The wrapping of the rod to some may seem an afterthought. This final stage is difficult for some that are new to it. Wrapping bamboo is harder than graphite as the rod has edges as opposed to being a cylinder. There is a real knack to it. I find I am slow when I haven't done one for a while but after 2-3 rods my speed and quality increases five fold. There are a lot of tricks, timesavers and nuances to wrapping. If you have not wrapped many sitting beside a pro for just one rod will really open your eyes to the the subtleties of this mirco skill. Keeping the left and right side of the guide the same size is critical, count your wraps before the ramp and keep it the same, check the feet before you start as often the maker has done a poor job or the feet are different lengths. Take pride in this final step, don't rush and get it right, folks with a keen eye will take notice.
